Video from La Foca’s new album

La Foca is an Uruguayan indie band fronted by Federico González which, in sound and history, has much in common with Argentina’s Jaime Sin Tierra. For example, in the year 2000 they were the guest group for the launch of the latter’s Autochocador album in Buenos Aires. What’s more, the band already has two CDs out, and one more that is in the process of being released, with all of them having been recorded in Buenos Aires and produced by Jaime Sin Tierra’s Juan Stewart in his studio. The new album is called Vos Lejos de Vos and is going to come out in August, but you can already watch two video advances. One of them is Que se vaya, a short song that divides the disc into two sections, and the title track:

Here’s the video for the song Mal Mal Mal by Astroboy, a band from Uruguay. Their latest record’s called Autom?tica and it was produced by Manza, from the argentinian band Valle de Mu?ecas.

Dani Umpi

Dani Umpi is a young painter, sculptor, singer and songwriter from Uruguay. His ascending musical career began almost by chance, when he published an English version of Jaime Roos’s Sur album (called North). Surprisingly, the song Loving You (Am?ndote in the original one) was an instant radio and club hit, so he decided to record other Uruguayan folk songs in a disco-gay mood.
In 2005 he published his first album with original compositions, called Perfecto.

Gepe’s new video

The chilean songwriter Gepe just released the first video of his album, Gepinto.
The video is from the song Nam?s and was directed by Francisco Mendoza. Here it is:

The record was published in Chile by Quemasucabeza, and you can buy it online for U$S 14 at Farolatino.
